Welcome to HawkEye Technologies—Your Source for Infrared.

We have been an industry leader for over 30 years. We are known for our high quality infrared sources as well as our ability and willingness to develop creative designs that meet the specific needs of our customers.

We began in the mid 1970’s. An entrepreneurial young man with an engineering background started a company by the name of LectraCoil. The early mission involved the development of replacement temperature sensors for industrial equipment. Our customer base at that time was primarily made up of manufacturers in the Northeast. Synergies were developed and we began to work with related products and related industries. As early as 1980, LectraCoil was producing the IR-12 Infrared Source. This rugged steady state infrared source has been a workhorse ever since.

Over the years, next generations of infrared sources came to life. The IR-12K was developed to meet higher temperature needs. The IR-2x Series was created to provide an alternative with lower power input requirements. By the time we became known as TomaTech in 1994, we were well along the path of becoming a leader in the infrared source business.

During the 1990's, we added the IR-4x Series of products that were based on a low mass thin film of precision-trimmed resistance material. We also became much more involved in custom infrared emitters, designed to meet a customer's specific needs.

We entered the new millenium with a focus on light weight, low input, pulsable infrared sources. We became HawkEye Technologies in 2002 and, at the same time, launched a new line known as the HawkEye IR-5x Series. This series includes the standard IR-50 as well as variations with windows or reflectors. For example, both the IR-55 and the IR-56 utilize this technology with collimated-energy reflectors.

We developed an expertise in the design of reflectors and optics to make our infrared sources more efficient. This expertise led to new products such as the focused-energy IR-57. More recently, we have developed a light-weight supported coil emitter known as the IR-30. Over the past several years, we have become known for our unique products combined with our willingness to develop and customize our portfolio. Our customer base has expanded throughout the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.
